Last updated: June 24, 2026

DisasterIQ, Inc. ("DisasterIQ," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our websites — including www.disasteraware.com, explore.disasteraware.com, and enterprise.disasteraware.com (collectively, the "Sites") — or use our products and services, including the DisasterAWARE Enterprise platform, the Event Intelligence API, Historical Event Intelligence, Geospatial Intelligence Layers, and our AI & Analytics Intelligence offerings (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Sites or Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites or Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information we collect automatically, and information we receive from third parties.

a. Information you provide directly

We collect personal information when you:

  • Create a DisasterAWARE Enterprise account or request a free trial
  • Submit a contact, demo, sales, or newsletter form
  • Communicate with our support, sales, or customer success teams
  • Participate in webinars, surveys, or events we host

The types of information we may collect include:

  • Name, job title, and employer
  • Business email address and phone number
  • Account credentials (username and password)
  • Stated use cases, areas of interest, and monitoring needs
  • Billing and payment information (handled by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers)
  • Any other information you choose to provide in free-text fields or communications with us

b. Information collected automatically

When you visit the Sites or use the Services, we automatically collect certain technical information, which may include:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen size
  • Referring URL, pages visited, time on page, and other usage analytics
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

c. Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Our analytics, marketing, and CRM providers (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot)
  • Integration partners you authorize to share data with the Services
  • Publicly available sources used for sales research or account enrichment

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Sites and Services
  • Create and administer accounts, including DisasterAWARE Enterprise trials and subscriptions
  • Process orders, payments, and renewals
  • Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and send service-related notices
  • Send marketing communications about products, features, releases, briefings, and events (you can opt out at any time — see Section 4)
  • Personalize content, recommendations, and user experience
  • Conduct research, analytics, and reporting (often in aggregated or de-identified form)
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect the rights, property, or safety of DisasterIQ, our users, or others

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as described below:

  • Service providers and processors. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Sites and Services — for example, cloud hosting, analytics, CRM, email delivery, payment processing, and customer support tools. These vendors are contractually required to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Business partners. If you request information or trials involving a co-branded offering or an authorized reseller, we may share your contact details with that partner to fulfill your request.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers. If DisasterIQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
  • With your consent. We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you with your consent.

4. Your Choices

Marketing communications

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing message, or by contacting us at support@disasteraware.com. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you transactional or service-related messages (e.g., billing notices, security alerts, or notices about changes to your account or this Policy).

Account information

You can access, correct, or update your account profile by signing in to DisasterAWARE Enterprise or by contacting us at support@disasteraware.com.

Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of the Sites.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Sites, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and support marketing.

Common categories of cookies we use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Sites to function (e.g., authentication, security).
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Sites (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Marketing cookies — help us measure campaign performance and deliver more relevant content (e.g., HubSpot tracking).

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no industry-standard interpretation of this signal, the Sites do not currently respond to it.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need personal information, we delete or de-identify it, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Sites.

8. International Data Transfers

DisasterIQ is headquartered in the United States, and personal information we collect is processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Sites or Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries with data protection laws different from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

9. Your Rights Under U.S. State Privacy Laws (Including California)

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (e.g., Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others), you may have the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Right to know / access the personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or of certain targeted advertising (note: we do not sell personal information).
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@disasteraware.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before responding. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

10. Your Rights Under European, UK, and Other Equivalent Laws (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right of access
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing (including for direct marketing)
  • Right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects

Legal bases for processing. We process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases: (i) performance of a contract with you, (ii) compliance with a legal obligation, (iii) protection of your or another person's vital interests, (iv) our legitimate interests (e.g., operating and improving the Services), or (v) your consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@disasteraware.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.

11. Children's Privacy

The Sites and Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 16, please contact us at support@disasteraware.com and we will take steps to delete it.

12. Third-Party Sites and Services

The Sites may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not operated by DisasterIQ. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any third party before providing them with personal information.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as a banner on the Sites or an email to registered users). Your continued use of the Sites or Services after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of it.

14. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Where applicable, mandatory consumer protection or privacy laws of your jurisdiction may also apply.
